Time & Sales

The time and sales screen is accessed from the Time & Sales tab on the home page. It shows live and historical time and sales views of the 3M metal contracts.

Select the metal and contract from the drop down list boxes. The default view is to show live data from the last 30 minutes. The calendar defaults to today’s date, and the start and end time default to now minus 30 minutes and now respectively. To view data for different periods or dates, change the date in the calendar control, and the start and end times in the appropriate text boxes. When you have selected the correct period click the Get Data>> link.

Provided You are viewing data for today, you can tick the option to Show Live Time & Sales. In this mode, after having pressed Get Data>> any new quotes or trades received for that contract will automatically be added to the top of the time and sales list. A grey bar separates the live data from that retrieved from the database.

The time and sales data is displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It displays quotes from the brokers, trades for the floor and trades from LME Select. The first column shows the timestamp, the next column is blank for quotes and shows ‘T’ for trades with a colour coded arrow showing the price movement from the previous price. Broker quotes are displayed as the mid point of bid and ask. The last column shows where the price originated. R1, R2, R3,R4 are from the four ring session, K1,K2 are from the two kerb sessions and S is from Select. Anything else (e.g. SEMP, BARC) is from a broker.
