Subscribers Home Page


The website is structured into four broad areas :

Top Panel Live Subscribers

 The top panel shows, on the left hand side, the key LME Dates for the current trading day (Cash, 3,15,27 & 63 months).

Below this is a textbox to search our website content. Enter a search phrase into the text box and click the Search >> button to search our content. The results will be displayed in the central content area, showing news headlines, top reports and links matching your search criteria.

Across the top you will find five small icons these are links to our online shop, contacts, SMS Alerts website, Help pages and a site map.

Below this are links to the individual metal specific pages.

Working from left to right, top to bottom the symbols are for : Copper, Aluminium, Nickel, Zinc, Lead, Tin, Al.Alloy, NASAAC, Iron, Steel, LME mini, Home.

Clicking any of these links changes the colour scheme to match the chosen metal and changes the content of the central content area to match the chosen metal. For example clicking the Copper symbol shows a Copper overview page with copper reports and news, and copper charts on the right hand side. Also the links on the right hand side are targeted for Copper. For example the Official LME link will show Copper Official LME prices, and the LME Forwards link will show Copper LME Forwards prices.

Top Panel Prices

Live LME Subscribers will see live LME prices as above split into Broker 3M, Floor 3M and LME Select 3M prices. The Broker section shows the broker code, Bid & Ask and the change on the day. The change resets at 17:00 London time and is based on the difference between the Close and Bid prices.

Floor prices, show which LME ring session is currently open. The prices will be blanked out at the beginning of each session. Clicking the Bid or Ask navigates to the popup window for the detailed view of floor prices for that metal.

LME Select shows the Bid, Ask, Last and the cumulative volume for the day. Clicking on the Bid or Ask navigates to the detail view of LME Select prices for that metal showing market depth, best 5 Bid/Ask :


Top Panel Delayed Subscribers

Delayed LME Subscribers will see 30 minute delayed 3M Broker prices and 3M Select prices. Again clicking on the Bid/Ask for LME Select shows the detailed view of market depth.

Top Panel LMEmini Subscribers

Clicking on the LMEmini metal icon button changes the prices in the top panel to show the first three nearby LMEmini contracts for Aluminium, Copper and Zinc. Clicking on the Bid/Ask takes you to the detail popup showing the 5 best Bid/Ask for the given contract.

Central Content Area

LME Overview (Home Page)

The premium subscribers home page has a button to show the LME overview section, above the top reports. Click the button Show >>> to view the overview :


To hide the overview click the close but button. The LME Overview on the home page shows a summary of the latest LME Official Prices, showing the official Bid/Ask for Cash and 3M contracts. Clicking on these prices launches the detail view of official prices for that metal, in a popup window:


The overview also shows a summary of the LME Warehouse stocks. This has a chart link to view a daily chart of the closing warehouse stocks for a given metal :


The Last column shows the closing warehouse stocks figure, Chng shows the movement for that day, Warrant shows the quantity of stock on Warrant at all the warehouses, and Cancel shows the quantity of cancelled warrants at all locations. The warehouse stocks prices shown on the overview will automatically update at 9am with the latest stocks prices from the LME.

Clicking on any of the warehouse stocks figures navigates to the Warehouse Stocks summary control in a popup window.

The last section of the LME Overview shows LME Cash to 3M prices for each of the metals. This shows the bid time, contributor, bid and ask prices and is updated automatically in real time.

LME Overview (Metal Pages)

 The individual metal pages also have a collapsible overview section with detailed prices for the selected metal. Click the Show Copper LME Overview button to show the overview above the metal specific reports. If you don’t need to see a detailed view of LME prices for that metal, then click the Hide Copper LME Overview button to collapse the overview section.

The metal page overview has five sections. The top section shows a live view of LME prices for that metal. The button launches a 5 minute chart for that contract in a popup window. The next section below show a detailed view of LME official prices for that metal. Alongside this section is the detailed view of LME Average prices. These represent the average of the official prices for the month to date.


Click the calculator button to navigate to the Averages Calculator, where you can calculate the average LME prices for any given period, spanning multiple months if required.

The next section shows the previous days official LME Volumes in US dollars, Euro, Sterling and Japanese Yen.

Below this is the summary view of LME Warehouse Stocks for that metal.

Top Reports

 On the home page you will find several top reports detailing some of the most important stories of the day. On metal pages (e.g. copper page) the top reports are targeted for that specific metal.

These reports are hand picked through out the day by our Editorial staff to give the user a quick overview of the market and the directions of the metals. This is also used as a place for important events and announcements, which come directly from the market.

The reports are updated in real time as soon as our editorial team create them. We show you the first few lines of the report in this section. To view the full report in a popup window click the headline, the image or the button.

Some reports are available to premium subscribers only. These will be indicated by icons , available to all premium subscribers, and available to subscribers of our Premium Research service. These Research reports are written by our in-house editorial team, and hence are only available to Premium Research subscribers.

News Headlines

 The news headlines are displayed in two columns. The left column shows headlines targeted for premium subscribers only. The right hand column shows free news headlines.

Both newswires update in real-time as soon as our editorial team update the newswire. When the newswire updates, the stories that are new or updated, flash in blue, to draw your attention to them.

Similar to the top reports, the news headlines in the premium newswire have icons indicating which subscription level is required to access the news story.

All the news headlines will open in a new browser window.

Searching News

At the top of the newswires is a text box where you can enter a search phrase to search are newswires for relevant matches. Type your search criteria then click the Search>> button. The matching headlines found will be displayed in the central content area, replacing the top reports and news previously displayed.

Home Page Tabs

The tabs at the top of the central content area, enable quick navigation to some of the most frequently used pages. The Home tab will always take you back to the subscribers home page, the first page you arrive at when you login. LME Rings launches the LME Rings control in place of the LME Overview.

The LME Rings control shows a live view of floor prices and automatically changes view to show the current metal as each LME floor session progresses.

The LME Stocks tab launches the Warehouse Stocks control in place of the LME Overview. This shows a summary overview of LME Warehouse Stocks for the current day, with links to drill down to view more details and historic warehouse stocks data.

The LME Reports tab displays, in the central content area, the timetable of LME Batch Reports, and indicates the time we expect to receive the report and a green tick , indicating we have actually received it. Click the View Report link next to each entry in the time table to view the report in a popup window. See the section on LME Reports for a full description of each of these reports.

The Time & Sales tab displays the Time & Sales screen in the central content area. It shows a live or historical view of LME 3M contract broker quotes and select and floor trade prices, in a time and sales format.

The Research tab launches the Base Metals Reports page in the central content area. This provides links to the latest Base Metals reports some written by our in-house editorial team, some sourced from elsewhere, all providing vital in-sights into the market. Most of these reports are available to premium subscribers only.

The Markets tab provides links directly to the exchanges we receive prices from e.g. London Metal Exchange, COMEX, Shanghai Futures Exchange, MCX, DGCX, KLTM.

The Events tab shows key dates throughout the year across the markets. For example LME holidays, LME third Wednesdays, Yen & Euro holidays.

Metal Pages Tabs

The tabs on the individual metals pages are very similar to the home page. The LME Stocks tab shows a summary of warehouse stocks for that metal only. The Research tab shows links to research for that metal only. The Markets tab shows information from the exchanges about that specific metal (e.g. LME Copper contract specifications).

There is an additional tab, About, (e.g. About Copper) which shows market information on for example production, supply and demand for that metal.

There is also another additional tab, LME Spreads, which launches, in a popup window, the spreads page for that metal.

It shows the latest quotes and trades for the major LME spread contracts for that metal, alongside the evening evaluations for those spreads.

Home Page Right Hand Side

There are twelve tabs on the right hand side of the subscribers home page. The links from all the tabs open new pages in the area below the tabs on the right hand side.

LME Forwards

The LME Forwards tab launches the LME Forwards control. This shows the forwards curve and nearby spreads for all the eight LME metals with buttons to drill into more detail.

LME Averages

The Averages tab launches the Averages control, displaying a summary view of the average LME official prices for the month to date. Links are provided to drill into more detail, including historical average prices, plus a link to the averages calculator where you can calculate the average price for any period, spanning several months or years.

LME Volumes

The LME Volumes tab launches the Volumes control showing LME Volumes for the current day in summary form across four currencies. Links are provided to drill down into more detail and access historical LME volume data.

Official LME

The Official LME tab displays a daily summary of the LME Official prices. It has links to drill down into that day’s data in detail, plus access historical data and view a daily chart of the cash official price.

LME Session

The LME Session tab launches the LME Ring Session tracker page. This page automatically tracks the LME Ring sessions and shows which metal is active in the current session.

Charts

The Charts tab links to a page showing a daily view of the 3M contract for all the eight metals.

COMEX

The COMEX tab is enabled for subscribers to our COMEX services. It shows the nearby 5 COMEX futures contracts for Copper and Aluminium. There are chart links to a 5 minute chart for each future. The prices update in real time (as shown left).

LME Hi/Low

The LME Hi/Low tab displays our own unofficial view of LME 3M contracts. It shows the high and low prices, based on broker quotes and trades from LME Select and the floor. It resets at 17:00 London time. This should not be confused with the official LME Hi/Low prices which are accessed from the left hand menu (described elsewhere).

S.H.F.E.

The SHFE tab links to live prices from Shanghai Futures Exchange. This is available only to subscribers to our SHFE service. It displays real time trades from SHFE for the nearby 5 contracts each for Copper and Aluminium. The times of the trades are displayed in China Standard Time.

Currencies

The currencies tab displays live FX quotes in more than 15 currencies, plus quotes for precious metals. The quotes update in real time as shown left.

Equities

The Equities tab displays delayed share price quotes of related mining companies.

Calendar

The Calendar displays events happening in the coming week all around the world related to the Base Metals market. You can cycle through week by week to view forthcoming events. Each event has links to the website of the event itself.

Metals Pages Right Hand Side

 Some of the right hand side tabs are targeted to display specific information dependant on the metal selected. For example if the aluminium tab is selected, then the LME Forwards tab on the right hand side of the home page, will show only forwards prices for Aluminium. Similarly the Averages, LME Volumes, Official LME, Charts, COMEX and S.H.F.E tabs will all show prices for Aluminium (or which ever metal tab you selected).
