We have spent a lot of time and effort to make sure that BaseMetals.com is workable and stable on as many browser formats a possible - however the site is designed to work fully with Internet Explorer 5 and above and Netscape 7 and above.

The first point of call when ever you have a technical problem with the site is to check the following on your computer,
1) Is your internet contention active and working properly?
2) Refresh the site to see if that solves the problem (a good way to do this is to hold down the CTRL button on your keyboard and press the F5 key)
3) Close down your browser and then open up the site again.
4) Restart your computer.

There are a few checks you can make to your computer if you have any problems.

Depending on what Internet Browser you use the way to check settings can be different, the following instructions are for Internet Explorer 6.

At the top of your browser click the 'Tools' button then select 'Internet Options'.
Once you have the options up please select 'Privacy' from the tabs at the top.
At the bottom of the 'Privacy' tab should be a section titled 'Web Sites' - click the 'Edit' button under websites.
Here you can manage website's cookie controls - simply type in www.basemetals.com and press the 'Allow' on the right.
Click 'OK' to finish, then restart your browser.

JAVA - BaseMetals.com uses a computer language called Java to give you many features on the site (auto price refreshing and interactive charts to name but two).
If you are experiencing problems that may be linked to Java, you may want to update to the latest version.
To do this simply download a zip file from this link Download and save it to a temporary location (such as you desktop). Open the file and then run the msjavx89.exe installer. Once that has finished just restart your computer.
